The Xavier Mission Board of Directors is proud to announce that Cassandra Agredo, our Executive Director, has been selected by City & State New York and NYNMEDIA as one of their “NONPROFIT FORTY UNDER FORTY.” Each year, NYNMEDIA chooses exceptional leaders from across the state in the nonprofit/for-impact sector for recognition. Honorees will be celebrated in a virtual ceremony on April 28th.

To be recognized for leadership, dedication, and vision would be an honor at any time. For Cassandra to have been chosen this year speaks to the extraordinary work she and the Mission employees and volunteers have done during a time of unimaginable challenges. 

Amid the restrictions and demands caused by COVID, Xavier Mission continued helping our guests while ensuring their health and safety, as well as that of our employees and volunteers. We provided people with takeaway meals; increased the amount of financial assistance we distributed; maintained our Food Pantry as a critical resource for people facing food insecurity; and our LSEP program served more than 100 alumni who struggling with issues related to the pandemic, including isolation, sobriety, and mental health challenges. 

Xavier Mission is unique among New York City for-impact programs for the breadth of issues we help our guests and alumni with. We are thrilled that Cassandra’s well-deserved honor helps to shine a light on the Mission not only in New York City, but across the state.
